Catherine Ann Kelley was born on September 29th 1988 in Oak Park, Illinois. She was born to Liz Kovacs who brought up Cathy mainly on her own. Cathy spent a lot of time on her father’s farm in Vermont. Her grandfather, Bartram Kelley, was an aviation pioneer as a senior engineer for Bell Helicopters.

In 2012 Cathy joined After Buzz TV which recapped WWE’s Monday Night Raw, NXT and ABC’s The Bachelor. The following year Cathy started hosting a podcast entitled “Chatting with Cathy”. This podcast was her opportunity to interview celebrities, social influencers and various other network connections. This lasted for a further couple of years and in February of 2016 Cathy joined WWE.

Her first position was as a reporter for NXT and special events. NXT is one of three WWE championships, and is where the future superstars are introduced into the world of WWE. She was also the primary host on WWE Now which was exclusive to the WWE’s social media platforms and website. She would release breaking news and preview of future RAW and SmackDown events. Cathy’s Television debut came in September 2019 during an episode of NXT. A few weeks later, due to the majority of the WWE staff being stuck overseas, she was give the reporting chance on SmackDown. It was during February of 202 Cathy announced her departure from WWE and her final show was NXT TakeOver: Portland a few days later.

Cathy’s reason for leaving WWE was that she wanted to do it all, write, produce and host the shows and also she wanted to be an author. The time required for WWE was too much for her to do what she wanted and also was making her leave Los Angeles. Cathy knew she had to stay where she was for her to be able to achieve her goals. She has stated that it is not goodbye for ever from WWE but more of a ‘See you later’. Cathy left WWE without having a job to go to but she felt that she need the opportunity to live her own life for a while and try to achieve her own goals and dreams and the intensity of WWE was not compatible with this. It was a tough decision for Cathy but she felt the time was right.

Cathy’s grandfather believed in helping others and this rubbed off onto Cathy and she continues to support charitable organisations including Unlikely Heroes, a charity which supports human trafficking survivors. Other institutions that Cathy has helped include Girl Up, Unicef, the special Olympics and GLAAD- a non-governmental media monitoring organization. This was started to help the defamatory coverage of LGBT people in the entertainment industry. It is obvious from Cathy’s choices of charity to support that she has strong feelings towards children and minorities.
In 2017 Cathy Kelley’s relationship with Fergal Devitt ended. Cathy’s next relationship with NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream ended in 2019 and at the time of writing is currently single.
