Tyrod Di’allo Taylor is an American athlete, who plays the position of a quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on the 3rd of August 1989 in Hampton, Virginia, United State of America. Tyrod attended Hampton High School for his early education, where he participated in basketball, football and track events. After ranking as a high prospect to the college by top sports channels like ESPN, Rivals and Scout, he received scholarship offers from several universities and he narrowed his selection to Virginia Tech and the University of Florida, he committed to the former.
He had an excellent college career after led his team to the Orange Bowl, as a sophomore and during his senior year, in 2009 and 2011 respectively. In 2011, he had his professional career when he was drafted in the sixth round by the Baltimore Ravens. Tyrod won the super bowl with the team when played in Super Bowl XLVII as a backup quarterback.

After a successful high school and college career, Tyrod began his professional life with Baltimore Ravens after he played his first game in the preseason against Atlanta Falcons. He was added to the 53-man squad, as he played his rookie year being a backup quarterback to the veteran, Joe Flacco, but did not make his season debut briefly later in the year.
In the 2012 season, Taylor made his first start in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on game week 17. He remained as a back up to the starter Flacco and won his first championship ring with the Ravens the same season. In the next season while coming off a championship, he was given more playing time in the preseason game, where he put up decent stats and skills. Halfway through the season, he made his first appearance in a win against the Bengals in week 10 and also played in a 41-7 blowout to Tom Brady’s New England Patriots. In 2014, he played only one season game in a victory over Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In 2015, Tyrod moved to Buffalo Bills after signing a three-and-a-half-year deal. He secured the starting quarterback position over EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel, after an impressive preseason. He dropped some very impressive stats in this season, including his three touchdowns, twelve-yard run and no interception game against the Miami Dolphins. He was settling well into the Bills team, as he became only the fifth player in NFL history to put up at least 100 passing yards and 70 rushing yard. This play had his jersey sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Ohio. However, he suffered an injury in the next week but later returned in victory over the Miami Dolphins.
He set Bills’ streak of passes without interference with 222 passes. Despite not making the playoffs due to loss at Washington Redskin, Tyrod became the first Bills’ player with over 500 rushing yards in a season. He ended the season as a Pro Bowler with an amazing stat of over 3000 passing yards, 500 rushing yards and just six interceptions. Also, he had an amazing run in the 2016 season, as he signed a $90 million six-year contract and put up over 3000 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Unfortunately, he ended the season with a groin injury.
Tyrod played for other teams including Jacksonville Jaguars after he was traded in 2017, and Cleveland Brown in 2018. In 2020, he landed at Los Angeles Chargers. Here, he plays as a backup quarterback to the rookie, Justin Herbert.
