An American Professional Baseball Starting Pitcher, Tyler Wayne Skaggs played in Major League Baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks and also Los Angeles Angels. Selected by the Angels in the first round of MLB draft in 2009, they later traded him to the Diamondbacks in the 2010 season, after which he made his MLB Debut in 2012. He was then again traded back to the Angels in the 2014-15 season. He finally passed away in the year 2019, his body found in his hotel room in Southlake, Texas, and his death being rules as an accident.

At the time of his death in the year 2019, he was the team leader with respect to wins and strikeouts for the respective season, finally having a 28-38 win-loss record, with a. ERA of 4.41 and a high number of strikeouts, 476.

July 1, 2019 was the unfortunate day when he was found frigid and unresponsive in the premises of the hotel, he resided in. He and his team were subjected to play the series’ finale 3 days after his death. The first game was rescheduled on the day of his death when the unfortunate event took place. As per the police reports, suicide or foul play was not suspected. Upon autopsy, a mix of certain chemicals along with alcohol was found in his body, and the cause of his death was declared to be asphyxia after choking on his own vomit, ruling the death as an accident.
His death saw absolute grief in Major League Baseball and at their first home game after his death on July 12, all the players of the Angels wore his number 45 jersey.
