The 25th Silver Actors Guild (SAG) Awards Nominees And Winner List Per Each Category

The award show was hosted by Megan Mullally on 27 January 2019 at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, Los Angeles, California. It was later termed by some of the fans as one of the biggest upsets in both television and film categories.

The best actor was awarded to the historic performance of Rami Malek for his portrayal of Queen’s star Freddie Mercury while the Best actress is bagged by Glenn Close for her performance in The Wife.

Black Panther won the top award Best Cast Ensemble defeating both A Star is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody. The movie was directed by none other than Ryan Coogler.

Harry Shum Jr and Sydney Sweeney announced at the end of the show that Black Panther has been named the winner of Outstanding Action Performance By Film. The production crew praised the efforts of the stunt teams in the success of the film.

Mahershala Ali has been on a roll in award shows. He has won yet another supporting role award for his performance in the movie Green Book while Emily Blunt won the same award in the female category for the film A Quiet Place.

The TV movie or limited series category was among one of the most anticipated categories. The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story actor Darren Criss and Escape at Dannemora actress Patricia Arquette clinched the award.

The Best Drama Series Ensemble was another award to look out for. NBC’s dramedy “This Is Us” won the award by a close margin. Even Jason Bateman(Ozark) and Sandra Oh(Killing Eve) won the Best Actor & Best Actress categories for their respective drama series.

Rounding out the star-studded affair: the 25th SAG Awards’ Life Achievement Award went to veteran actor Alan Alda.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been a stand out with multiple awards including Best Ensemble, Best Actor and Best Actress. The amazon produced web series has been huge in the Television Categories.
