Before this tragic accident, there was some speculation that Abigail was not Dorothy’s biological daughter and she was an adopted child. The reason for this curiosity around Abigail was due to the stark difference between her and Ruthie. They didn’t have any resemblance.
Whatever the truth is, Ruthie treated Abigail as her own daughter. In the context of the rumors regarding her daughter, Ruthie once said:-
I’m actually fifty percent Asian. My dad has blond hair, my grandmother has blue eyes. My daughter has blue eyes and blond hair. So it is pretty funny to me that I’m so heavily identified as an Asian person… Really, the other half of me should be able to play Anna Leonowens.
Her fans believe her. When the news of the tragic accident got out, they even raised $500 thousand to help the families involved.
