As we hear of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), we could think of some great professional wrestlers such as the great American wrestler ‘Hulk Hogan’. Hulk Hogan being his ring name, Terry Gene Bollea is renowned among the great professional wrestlers and is also an actor and entrepreneur. Hulk Hogan fought his first wrestling match in the year 1977.

Hulk Hogan is one of the great names in the wrestling industry and WWE, from where the Hulk got all his success were great going. Until on July 24, 2015, a statement was made by WWE, asserting that WWE terminates its contract with Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan). It dazed all WWE’s fans and made them curious to know the reason behind it.

Now, what led the WWE to terminate its contract with Hulk Hogan? Here’s the full story behind his termination.

Well, some tapes were recorded in the year 2007 where Hulk Hogan was exposed using racist affronts. The transcripts were seen by Radar Online and The National Enquirer, where Hulk was wedged blustering about his daughter that she slept with a black man. He was talking to a friend’s (DJ Todd Allen Clem) wife, Heather Clem, with whom he was also filmed having sex. Hogan sued his friend Todd for invading his privacy and also sued the gossiping site, Gawker, where the tapes were posted. Hogan became feverish after knowing that the tapes were posted online. However, suing Gawker made it uncertain the fact that there was something more than the sex in the tapes.

Statements Made By Hulk In The Tapes

The statement made by him in the tapes was, ‘I guess we’re all a little racist.’  Hulk made some harsh racist comments and profusely used them to exaggerate his point of view on the human races. He was uncovered acknowledging himself as a little racist to a point, speaking in antagonism about the situation of his daughter being with a black man. The statement in contrast to this he made was, “I mean, I’d rather if she was going to fuck some nigger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall nigger worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player!”

Legal analysts were sure about the fact Gawker could have a sustainable side due to the kind of behavior that Hogan did and whatever comments he made were newsworthy.

Hulk Hogan As A Racist- Unacceptable By WWE

The racist comments made by Hulk Hogan were deplorable for WWE. WWE is claimed to be committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of its employees, performers, and fans worldwide. After this, the WWE decided to terminate all its contracts with Hulk Hogan and also, erased any references of Hogan from its website. Hulk Hogan remained mum about the termination and the whole situation. Later on, on August 31, he apologized for the harsh racial comments that he made. Also, in PEOPLE magazine he made an absolute statement in his defense, “This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs.”

It was around 6 years that he remained away from WWE, and returned in 2018, for the fourth time.
