Hugh Hefner was born in the year 1926 on April 9. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. He was an American Magazine Publisher and the founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine which is a publication that published revealing articles photographs that provoked charges of obscenity. Playboy Magazine’s first edition was published and issued in the year 1953 featuring Marilyn Monroe in a nude calendar shoot. A total of over 50,000 copies of this magazine were sold in the market. Hugh was the first child of Glenn Lucius Hefner (1896–1976) who was an accountant by profession and his wife Grace Caroline Hefner (1895–1997) who worked as a teacher. His parents belonged to Nebraska. Hefner had a younger brother named Keith (1929–2016). His father was of German and English ancestry while his mother was of Swedish ancestry.
Hugh attended the Sayre Elementary School and did his high schooling from Steinmetz High School. Hefner did his graduation from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in the year 1949 with a Bachelor’s degree of Arts in Psychology and also did a double minor in Creative Writing and Art. At the beginning of his career, Hugh served as a writer in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 for a military newspaper. He was a producer and was popularly known for Hop in the year 2011, Miss March in the year 2009, and The Girls in the Band in the year 2011. In the year 1952, Hefner left his job as a copywriter for Esquire after the owner denied him a raise of $5.

Hefner was arrested on June 4, 1963, for promoting obscene pictures after an edition of his Playboy magazine published nude shots of Jayne Mansfield in bed along with a man present. The case went to trial but resulted in a hung jury and no decision was procured at the end of the trial.

Hefner was known as Hef by his friends and family. He married Mildred (“Millie”) Williams who was a Northwestern University student in 1949, and they had a daughter named Christie who was born in 1952 and a son named David who was born in 1955. In 2006 a story profile in E! True Hollywood written about Hefner revealed that Mildred his wife allowed him to have sex with other women, out of her guilt for her infidelity. As she wanted to save her marriage, but eventually they got divorced in the year 1959.

Hefner is believed to have dated as many as seven women concurrently in his life. He has also dated some of the renowned names from the industry such as Brande Roderick, Tina Marie Jordan, Izabella St. James, Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson, and Bridget Marquardt. Wilkinson, Madison, and Marquardt have also appeared on The Girls Next Door depicting their lives at the Playboy Mansion. But unfortunately, in October 2008, all the three girls decided to leave the mansion.
