Kristaps Porzingis, of Latvian Origin, a basketball player for a team of the National Basketball Association, called the Dallas Mavericks. The unique feature about him is that he is known as one of the tallest players still active in the NBA. He plays well both the power forward and centre positions. Porzingis shone as the team’s star in New York, however, due to his disagreements with the front office, he was recently traded to Dallas in 2019.

His career professionally began in 2011 with an EuroLeague Team known as Sevilla. Quickly rising through the youth ranks, he became the major image of the senior team by the year 2013. Moreover, he was also honoured with the Euro Cup Basketball Rising Star in the year 2015, becoming the youngest ever recipient of the award at a young age of just18 years.
Later, his team Sevilla’s nutritionist, diagnosed Porzingis of anaemia, meaning that he had fewer red blood cells. This led to him feeling short on breath, he started feeling fatigue and was unable to exercise properly. Slowly and gradually, his condition became better and thus his game also improved. Apart from the problem cause by his disease, he also had difficulty in catching up the language in Seville, which, in a way, added to his reluctance to return back there after his first try out.
His professional career has spanned a long time with him playing numerous matches and being a part of numerous seasons like the Rookie season, both for Sevilla and New York Knicks. During the years 2016-18, he rose to stardom by setting new career high points and records. Subsequently, he was named as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the games that he played from 30th October, Monday till 5th November, Sunday.
Talking about his National team Career, he played with the Latvian youth team and also got the chance of getting selected in the FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship in 2013.

Kristaps belongs to a family of players, with his father Talis competing semi-professionally, mother Ingrida playing Latvia Women’s Youth National Basketball Team. His older brother, Janis and Martins, both have played professionally. Due to his time spent in Spain, for two seasons and living there meanwhile, he is fluent in three different languages, which includes English and Spanish. In 2016, he signed a deal with the famous shoe brand Adidas. Before this, he had a deal with Nike. He is a football fan and supports his home team.

In the March of 2019, the fact that a woman accused Porzingis of raping her was revealed in public. The woman accused him of raping her at the Sky Building in the February of the previous year. It has come out that the woman has told the police the reason behind her staying quiet for the past year. She said that it was because she had signed a deal with Porzingis to get $68,000 to keep the matter mum. Roland G. Riopelle, who served as the attorney of Porzingis, denied the claim publicly. He also maintained that the case was previously referred to the federal authorities due to the extortionate demands of the accuser.
