Steinfeld became the Chairman of the California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports under Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006 and Jerry Brown in 2011. He served as Honorary Mayor of Pacific Palisades, CA from 2013-2016. He was the official Olympic torch bearer for the 2012 Olympic games in London, England.
