In confusion, she asked Chris what was going and wore the sweater anyway. This went viral some fans asking him to apologize. However, he later explained it as a joke.

Chris was found unconscious at Days Inn Motel, Glendale, California. He was rushed to the nearest hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to police reports, it is clear that Chris was with another individual who made the call for emergency services after realizing that he was unconscious and was not breathing.
On February 22, 2019, LA County Medical Examiner revealed that the cause and manner of Chris’ death reveal methamphetamine toxicity and other contributing factors relating to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and hypertension. He said that the death was accidental.
The celebrated news anchor was buried at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier. His friends and fans were left in shock and disbelief. Many sent heartfelt condolences while a few criticized his being bi-sexual.
