Francesco Stephen Castelluccio or popularly called Frankie Valli was born on the 3rd of May, 1934. The 87-year-old grew up in Newark, New Jersey. The American-born musician was born into an Italian family consisting of him, his parents, and his 3 siblings.

At the age of 7, his passion for music started after his mother, Mary, took him to the Paramount Theater in New York to Frank Sinatra’s concert. Coming from a middle-class family, he worked as a barber. When launching his music career, Francesco took Jean Valli’s stage name, Valli. He stated that the reason for doing so was because he loved Jean’s song Texas.
His music career began after he was invited by the Variety Trio to join them as a guest performer in some of their concerts. The band would later break up in 1952. Determined, Frankie got together with Tommy DeVito and joined the House Band in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

The group later on rebranded to ‘the Four Lovers’ and ended up recording an album worth of singles with their biggest hit being “You’re the Apple of My Eye”. Members Nickie and Hank were replaced in 1958 by Nick Macioci (Massi) and Hugh Garrity after they had left the group in 1956.
The group added Bob Gaudio who later came to be replaced by Charles Calello in1965. They renamed themselves the 4 Seasons in 1960. The guys went through several changes throughout the years, Frankie remained as the lead singer.
Valli went on to produce solo tracks which performed well in the Billboard 100 chart. His best songs were My Eyes Adore You and Grease.
He also made some appearances in films and TV shows. In 1985, Frankie played Frank Doss in the Miami Vice show as well as featuring in Season 8 of Full House, playing as himself. He also appeared as Frank LoCascio in the 1998 movie Witness to the Mob. His latest acting role was in the 2014 series Hawaii Five-0 where he played Leonard Cassano.

Frankie married MaryAnn Hannigan, his second wife, in 1974 for eight years, divorcing in 1982. In 1984, two years later, he married Randy Clohessy. The marriage lasted for 22 years after which he filed for a divorce in 2004. The divorce case is still pending up to date.
